Product Details

Met Museum of Art® Louis C. Tiffany Favrile Flower Glass 4x4 frame from the Met Museum® collection —

This elegant glass frame reinterprets a Favrile glass roundel (1893–96) designed by Louis Comfort Tiffany (American, 1848–1933) and housed at The Met.

The luminous decoration in the Museum's holdings features a fabulous flower embellished with intricate veins. Favrile glass, named after the Old English fabrile, meaning "hand-wrought," was a late 19th-century development by the Gilded Age visionary, who discovered that blending colors in molten glass achieves extraordinary effects of shading and texture.

Piece displays a 4"x4" print or photo. Overall, the piece measures 6''W x 6''L. Felt backd. To view the complete collection, visit: The Metropolitan Museum of Art® Collection
